International Women's Day
The women that make my world go around
I have been so lucky in my career to have met some great women along my journey (and of course lots of very great influential males too – but as today is International Women’s Day I will just focus on the ladies for now).
However, I strongly believe that lessons I have learnt along the way have not only come from managers, mentors, coaches and work peers but have strongly come from the people that I surround myself with on a daily basis.
As a freelancer I probably spend more time talking to friends and family about challenges and frustrations about projects than I do talking to the businesses.
My friends and family’s patience and advice guides my thought processes.
I also listen to my girlfriends (whose work ranges across all industries) discuss their days, their challenges, their learnings.
As a good listening ear, I give advice where I can, and learn from their challenges too.
International Women's Day
I am so lucky to be surrounded by these women and this International Women’s Day on March 8th 2021, I salute them all.
Although, I am there for them every day not just on IWD.
People missing from the photo ....
There are some very notable exceptions on the photos here including Helen Forsyth, Sammy Burt, Danielle Roe, Sara Strickland, Jules Daly, Grace Hoskins, Monica Farias, Kendra Cartwright, Jo Bynge and Bev Rowles who have all been great people to work with over the years. I’m sure I have missed some more.
